Overview

This module gives the knowledge and skills needed to communicate effectively with clients, and colleagues.

What you'll cover

In this module, you will learn to use verbal and non-verbal communication to enhance understanding and demonstrate respect. You'll communicate service information clearly and confirm the person’s understanding, while listening, clarifying meaning, and responding appropriately. The module covers exchanging information within confidentiality procedures and collaborating with colleagues by agreeing on timeframes and using correct industry terminology.

You’ll learn to identify and follow communication protocols and address constraints to effective communication using appropriate strategies. Reporting problems to a supervisor, complying with legal and ethical responsibilities, and referring issues and unresolved conflicts are key components. You'll also learn to complete workplace correspondence and documentation according to legal requirements and organizational procedures, using clear and objective language.

Additionally, the module emphasizes contributing to continuous improvement by identifying and promoting better work practices, seeking feedback, and consulting with managers for skill development opportunities.
