Program overview

Community Connect provides guided experience with travel, public places and common activities outside the home. It helps you build the communication, safety awareness and practical confidence needed to access services and participate in community life with greater independence.

Why it helps

Skills grow strongest when they're used outside the classroom. This program carries learning into everyday community settings, so participants practise applying what they know in real life.

How it runs

Length
10-week term-based program. Participants can continue into other programs over time.
Each week
2 sessions per week, 5 hours per session, in a supportive small group.
A typical session
Structured learning and practical activities, with facilitated breaks built in.
Breaks
A 45-minute lunch break and two 15-minute tea/coffee breaks — all supervised and facilitated to support social interaction and peer engagement.

Programs are delivered as non-accredited employment and skills development programs.

Transition to Employment Program (TEP)

Structured pathways that build independence, confidence and workplace readiness.

About the program

ATSC's Transition to Employment Program supports young people aged 16 to 30 and school leavers to strengthen practical skills for work, community participation and everyday life.

Learners build confidence through active, structured experiences that connect personal goals with the routines, communication and teamwork used in real workplaces.

Program structure

Learners enrol into structured programs that run over a 10-week term, and can keep progressing through further programs over time as their goals, interests and support needs develop.

Sessions run in supportive small groups and combine practical activities, workplace simulations, community participation and routine-based skill building.
